This Privacy Policy explains how Venmatch LLC ("VenMatch," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and retains personal information when you use venmatch.com and the services offered there (the "Service").
VenMatch is a wedding vendor marketplace. We serve two kinds of users: couples planning a wedding, who use the Service at no charge, and vendors, who pay a subscription to be listed and to receive inquiries. Parts of this policy apply differently depending on which you are, and we say so where that is the case.
The Service is offered in the United States only. We do not market the Service to, or knowingly accept registrations from, people outside the United States.
When a couple creates an account and completes onboarding, we collect:
When a vendor creates a listing and subscribes, we collect:
Vendor listings are public. Active vendor listings, including the business contact email address and phone number stored on the listing, are readable by visitors to the Service, including visitors who are not signed in. Vendors should treat every field on a listing as public information and should not enter anything they do not want published.
We do not host vendor images. Portfolio photographs are stored as links to images hosted on other websites that the vendor supplies. When those images load on our pages, the third-party host receives a request from the visitor's browser and may observe the visitor's IP address and similar technical information. We do not control those hosts.
The Service includes an AI wedding planning assistant. When you use it, we store the content of your conversation, including the messages you send and the responses generated. We also keep operational records of these interactions, which may include portions of the message content, a session identifier, the account associated with the session, the model used, timing and performance data, and error information. These operational records are accessible only to our internal systems and personnel and are not exposed to other users of the Service.
Your messages are transmitted to a third-party AI service provider in order to generate a response. Under that provider's commercial terms, content sent through its interface is not used to train its models by default, and the provider deletes it from its systems on its own schedule.
When a couple contacts a vendor through the Service, we store the message content and the identities of both parties so the conversation can be delivered and displayed. Each party can read the conversations they are part of. Messages sent through the Service are not private between you and the other party alone. Our personnel can access them, as described in Section 4.
We generate and store match records linking couples to vendors, including a match score, the reasons a vendor was suggested, whether a couple saved the match, and whether a couple declined it and why. Match records are used to decide which vendors to show a couple. Vendors can see the match records in which they appear, including the match score, the reasons they were suggested, and any reason a couple gave for declining them. Match records do not give a vendor access to a couple's profile or contact information.
Accounts are created and authenticated through our hosting and authentication provider using your email address. You can sign in with a password or with a one-time sign-in link sent to your email address. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider as salted cryptographic hashes. We do not have access to your password in readable form and cannot recover it for you. Multi-factor authentication is not currently offered on the Service.
Vendor subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive, process, or store your full payment card number, expiration date, or security code. We store only the identifiers Stripe assigns to your customer and subscription records, your plan, and your subscription status. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
Our hosting provider and our own systems record technical information incidental to operating the Service, such as IP address, browser and device type, and pages requested. We do not currently use any analytics, advertising, or behavioral tracking tools on the Service. If we add any, we will update this policy before they go live.
We use browser storage and cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service, principally to keep you signed in and to maintain your session. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. We do not currently set advertising, analytics, or other non-essential cookies. If we add any, we will update this policy and, where required by law, obtain your consent first.
Our founders, employees, and contractors may access personal information stored in the Service where needed to operate it, provide support, investigate problems, or meet legal obligations. Administrative access to our database is limited to personnel who need it.
We share information with third parties that perform services on our behalf, including providers of:
These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide services to us. You may request a current list of the specific providers we use by contacting us at support@venmatch.com.
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide the opt-out mechanisms the law requires before the change takes effect.
We keep account information for as long as your account is active, and afterward as needed to comply with legal, tax, and financial recordkeeping obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Payment and subscription records held by us and by our payment processor are retained for financial and tax recordkeeping purposes and are not deleted on request.
Conversations with our AI assistant, and the operational records of those conversations, are currently retained indefinitely. We do not yet operate an automatic deletion schedule for this content. You may request deletion of your conversation history at any time using the contact details in Section 12, and we will remove it manually. If we introduce an automatic retention period, we will state it here.
Messages between couples and vendors, match records, and checklist items are retained for as long as the associated account is active.
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, correction of inaccurate information, or deletion of your information. Requests are reviewed and carried out manually by our team. Contact us at support@venmatch.com and we will respond within 45 days, or sooner where the law requires it.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, typically by confirming control of the email address on the account. Deletion requests may be limited where we are required to retain records, most commonly for payment and tax purposes.
You can opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages, or by contacting us. Transactional messages about your account, inquiries, or billing are not optional while you hold an account.
Depending on where you live, state law may give you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to obtain a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of sale or targeted advertising, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We apply the rights described in this section to all users in the United States regardless of state. To exercise them, contact us at support@venmatch.com. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will reconsider and explain our decision.
The Service is operated from the United States. Personal information is stored and processed on infrastructure located in the United States, in the US East region (Northern Virginia). Because the Service is offered in the United States only, we do not routinely transfer personal information outside the United States.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit, row-level access controls on our database, and delegation of payment card handling to a PCI-compliant payment processor. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@venmatch.com and we will delete it.
Vendor listings may link to vendor websites, social media profiles, and externally hosted images. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information to them.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice, such as an email to the address on your account or a notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the revised policy.
